|
|
Is there a basic 16-bit Winsock alternative to Microsoft?
All I need is to:
1. Open a port
2. Write some data to the port.
3. Read the response.
4. Close the port
The problem I am having with the Microsoft 16 bit Winsock is
it's running out of DOS memory when initializing on Win 3.1
We're stuck running Win 3.1 because the app does not have
hardware drivers for WinNT or Win2k. And it behaves
erratically under Win95/98. The company that wrote the
app no longer supports the 16 bit Win16 version - it's
a voicemail program that uses Dialogic D41 cards.
