Simple to duplicate, a bugger to find.

Hook up your data-aware combo box with db of your choice.
Ordinarily, selecting a record using the mouse will reposition the
table cursor.
BUT, select the combo box, so that the drop list is open. Then move
with your keyboard cursor key to another record.
Depending on what action now follows, the combo box text will read the
selection you made with your mouse key, but the table cursor will point
to a different record.

A cruel feature if this be the case.
