|

Hello all,
I've been using C++ Builder since version 1.0.
I'm upgrading from version 6.
Well, I installed the 2006 upgrade (Borland Developer Studio Professional) yesterday and I'm trying
to compile my app.
My program contains about 50 C++ source files. I've only had problems compiling one file! I am messing with
the linking process now.
I have a dll and lib consisting of about 20 source files. It looks like I had best rebuild these also to
facilitate the linking of the main app.
First, an improvement in the IDE that I've noticed (I think I way have posted a request for this on one of
these news groups for this, I'm not certain... B) You can now copy the text of warning and error messages
in the IDE! Good move. Thank you!
OK my questions.
Is there any thing in the included documentation to help with the migration to the upgrade?
Where can I find specific instructions for building dlls with C++?
I've found the available examples ('demos') (for C++) to be quite the limited set considering the width and
breath of the changes and additions to the compiler (they seem to be considerable). (Also I note
the the example I tried from Disk #4 failed to compile...)
The compiler's help files from previous editions contained numerous specific short code fragments.
Are there any in this product?
From what I've seen in my admittedly brief look at the help files the seem VERY TERSE. Hopefully this
isn't the general case.
Well so far so good...
Of course I don't have the program running yet... ;)
Thanks for any comments...
