|

Hi,
We are interested in purchasing D2006, but find it difficult to decide
between the Pro-version or the Enterprise-version of D2006, and the
feature-matrix does not shed any light on this. Perhaps you can help:
* We do NOT need ECO, StarTeam, or Together Modeling.
* We do NOT need to migrate existing projects
* We DO need to build database-applications, but ADO-connectivity (as in
Delphi5) will suffice.
It seems to me that the Pro-version does everything I need, but I am not
realy confident about that. In a previous post in this NG, I read that it is
not possible to upgrade from Pro to Enterpise. Pitty...
What flavour should we go for?
thanks,
Maurice |

I think you'd be OK with Pro. If you already have your own VCS, that is.
Just bundling StarTeam makes the Enterprise version worthwhile, and I
believe every developer needs a VCS.
You could always upgrade to the Enterprise version of the next Delphi
product, or return the Pro version within 30 days if you find a feature
you really need is missing.
