Hello.
I need sell a database application using dbExpress.Application is considered 2-tier because Provider and client dataset are on the same Exe. Do I need a license for MIDAS for this?
If this application is 3-tier do I then need a license for MIDAS?
Thank you.

That's correct, and in that case you do not need to purchase a MIDAS (or
DataSnap) license.

No.

Depends. If you use Delphi 7 Enterprise then you already have a MIDAS
(DataSnap) license. And technically, it's not possible to create a
3-tier application with Delphi 7 Professional (not "out-of-the-box"),
but even if you could: you can no longer purchase separate DataSnap
licenses. You just need a valid Delphi 7 Enterprise license in order to
deploy 3-tier applications that use the DataSnap (MIDAS) n-tier
components.
I believe John Kaster (Borland) was working on a final paper with the
official answers. I don't have the URL at hand at this time, sorry...
