We have a database product that currently uses ADO.
We want to switch this to dbExpress or DBX4.

This project is currently in Delphi 7.
Do you recommend that we first upgrade the project to Delphi 2007 and
use DBX4 instead of doing it in dbExpress + Delphi 7?

What are the differences between the dbExpress and DBX4?
Doing it in D7+dbExpress saves us a lot of time right now, but are we
going to miss anything by not directly jumping to DBX4?

Thanks in advance,
Reader
P.S. We will eventually upgrade this project to Delphi 2007 for win32,
but we need some time for that.

Just interesting why ? That will take the time to switch this way.
That are two very different data access libraries ...

DBX4 = DBX3 + fixes + TDBX (new driver framework)
So, in general, you can start with D7 + dbExpress. Upgrading
to D2007 will resolve some of probably discovered by you issues <g>
