I am plannign on buying Delphi and I jave a question about binary
compatibility between units compiled using retial versions of Delphi
against units compiled using trial/academic/personal editions of Delphi.

I know from experience that Delphi trial is not able to link against
units that are compiled using retail version of Delphi. Does any one
have any idea about what happens if units are compiled and used in
different Delphi environments (academic/trial/personal editions)?

I am planning on buying Delphi 7 Personal, (or Delphi 8 Academic
version) and intend to use a compiled unit (have no source) that is
built using Delphi 7 Retail version.

Any inputs highly appreciated.
