Hi fellow delphi-ites,
I have a very odd error in Delhi8.net - possibly installation, registry or whatever and would appreciate some advice.
The problem is as follows:
I initially installed Delphi 8.net prior to installing IIS (lack of understanding on my part). Subsequently I uninstalled .Net and Delphi 8, installed IIS, and re-installed the latter. Subsequently as I still had the following error which I will describe I have tried uninstalling and re-installing a number of times. I have run Norton Utilities to check out the registry and I have removed the assemblies by hand after I found that they were not removed by an uninstall.
I have a problem with all the TADO components. If I try to place them on a windows screen for example I immediately get a similar type of error. The one listed is when I try to use the TADOCONNECTOR component.
The problem is as follows - this is the error message I get.
Failed to create an instance of 'Borland.Vcl.ADONETDb.TADONETConnector' because 'System.MissingMethopdException:Constructor on type Borland.Vcl.ADONETConnector not found. at System.RuntimeType.Create InstanceImpl(BindingFlags binfdingAttr, Binder binder,Object[] args,CultureInfo culture, Object[] activationAttributes) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type, BindingFlags bindingAttr, Binder binder, Object[] args, CultureInfo culture, Object[] activationAttributes)
Any advice I will be very grateful.
Thanks,
Piers
