I'm reinstalling Delphi 2005 and want to make sure that everything's right.
My CD just happened to be in the drive from the Delphi install when I ran
the install for Update 1. It seems to be using it throughout the process. Is
this normal or did it somehow start installing Delphi again?

This is normal. Delphi patches the files as found on CD, therefore,
it needs to read all changed files from CD once.

PS: you are aware that you could have skipped update 1, and just
installed update 2 and 3, right?
