I am reading an article in the current SIGS ADA, which reviews (favourably)
the new Delphi 2005 release. However, it states "VCL has good but not perfect
compatibility with Win32 Delphi..."

As I wrote before, the VCL is being phased out, and backwards VCL
compatibility is not an issue for Borland management.

Isn't it ".Net VCL" versus "Win32 VCL"?

This is not true. The VCL is not being phased out. Stop stating lies about Borland and Borland's direction. Future posts like this will be canceled without warning.

It is not. The fact that you repeat it doesn't make it true.

Nope. At this point in the article, the discussion is definitely Win32-bound.
Diamondback VCL really does appear to have some inconsistencies with the old
VCL - let's hope the changes are all improvements.

Name two versions of the VCL that were 100% compatible? Hint - you can't.
Borland has always been willing to sacrifice a little bit of backwards
compatibility for improvements or bug fixes in the VCL. They don't do it
excessively, but if needed they do break backwards compatibility. You seem to
be indicating that this policy is different in D2005 than in previous versions,
but it is the exact same policy.
