Hi all --
I'm still a newbie to Delphi, and I recently purchased D2005 Academic.
I'm running it on a 1.8 GHz/512 MB RAM laptop. Someday I'll be glad to
have the extra components that came with the software, but for now I
don't think I need anything beyond the most basic of functions.
The software takes a lot longer to load than my older D5 version (20 or
25 sec. versus ~5 sec.)--even with DCM loading just the Win32
personality, without refactoring. I'm only loading 13 of the .bpl's
right now, and I'm wondering whether I could load even fewer with no
ill effects + a faster loading time.
The .bpl's I'm currently loading are: delphide90, vclmenudesigner90,
win32debuggerproide90, dbkdebugide90, coreproide90, IDETools90,
dbkdebuproide90, delphivclide90, delphicoreproide90, win32debugide90,
comstd90, compro90, and delphipro90.
I realize I could, of course, just try unloading the bpl's myself, one
at a time, but I thought somebody out there might already be ahead of
me :-)
Thanks, in advance -- Al C
