I have just had to reinstall Delphi3. Can someone direct me to the last
known update?
I have looked at borland.com and found details listed of bugs fixed, but
no download to fix them.

The Last update is Delphi 3.01 AFAIK, and that was no download, you had |
to contact Borland in order to get a 3.01 CD.

There was a 3.02, a normal download, but you first had to have 3.01,
which was a new CD and a complete reinstall. I have no idea where you can
get the 3.01 CD nowadays.

Do you have any Idea where to get 3.02? I do have a 3.01 CD, but I never
heard of 3.02.

Never Mind, I found the 3.02:

Whew - this took some navigating on the new web site. If you go to the
Delphi registered users download site, at the bottom is a "previous
versions" box with an "updates" link that eventually will get you to:

Thanks for that info. My CD volume is called DLV301, so I guess I am
safe to apply the 3.02 update. Curiously the files are timestamped 4:01
against the usual Borland convention.
I asked because I have a problem with some directory routines that use
findfirst and findnext (and findclose in 32bit) which have always worked
perfectly in D1, D2, D5 and D7 but which are giving me I/O error 32
messages in D3. I backtracked the latest version of this app from D7 to
D3 because it runs from a floppy and I needed to reduce its size.
Regards to all

Neil, Which find routines?
If you want the find files routines from the SysUtils units,
then I suggest using the following:
SysUtils.FindFirst(Path, Attr, F);
SysUtils.FindNext(F);
SysUtils.FindClose(F);
because there are others with the same names,
at least in in the later versions of Delphi.

Dear JohnH -
Yes, those are the ones. Maybe I need to put the Sysutils prefix in but
it still appears to be a Delphi 3 thing. That part of the unit code is
unchanged in 5 and 7. I will also try reinstalling Delphi 3 as there was
a (non-viral) glitch in that machine which deleted some files on C: -
but I would expect any consequences of that to be much more serious!

If you want to reduce the size of the exec, run the D7 exe through UPX. |

Is that a convention, or simply creating and timestamping files in Winter
Time and viewing the directory in Summer Time?
