During the BDE configuration phase, I get a dialog that says "Merge Failed." The installation continues without further error messages.

On rebooting, I get a dialog that says "Cannot find the file: C:\program' (or one of it's components)..." four times.

When I try to run Delphi, I get a dialog that says "The dynamic link libary Vcl40.bpl could not be found in the specified path..."

Is this a lost cause, or is there a way to get Delphi 4 to install on Win2K?

Thanks,
Jim Henley

Try checking your PATH environment variable, and see if anything obvious
is missing (or if you have to add the bin folder). IIRC, when user
profiles moved out of winnt\profiles\users, the string got too long and
the old installer can't handle it.

The Path looks OK. I tried variations and I always get the same results. After the install, the bin folder only has two files:

dcc32.cfg
delphi32.exe

Thanks,
Jim

I fixed it by installing Delphi 4 on an NT 4 machine, and then just copying the files to the Win2K Machine.
