Can i use Delphi7 and 8 on the same computer without to have any
problem ?

Yes, all versions of Delphi can be run (even simulaneously) on the same
computer. The general advice given is to install them in numerical order
although I'm not even sure about that. The only real overlap is the BDE
but I would hope that older installs wouldn't overwrite a newer BDE.

I did, at one time, have D1 through D5 installed and fully functional
on a single machine, and in each of its three boot personalities. As
you note, the only surprise (at least it surprised me when I learned of
it) was that only the newest version of BDE was functional, across all
flavors. That *could* be an issue, depending on what you may have
shipped and need to support in the field. These days, I suppose the
better solution would be to use one of the virtual PC tools to set up
as many environments as needed.

Only problem is when you deinstall Delphi 8 there is no bde administrator
available in Delphi 7 ...

Everything else as it seems is working perfectly ...
