|
|
A compiler bug was introduced in Delphi 7.1, in the optimizer. The QC
report is 8695. Since John Kaster is indicating that post-SP1 fixes
are on the way, please consider voting on this issue.

Paul, where do you think I indicated this? I didn't say this.

I remember *someone* (I thought it was you too) posting that a bug
introduced in D7 SP1 was going to be fixed with a hotfix or
something.
It may be related to:

It may just be my poor mushed up brain. I really do "remember"
something specific about a SP1 refresh, or a post SP1 patch of some
sort, but can't find documentation for the life of me right now.

See thread entitled "More D7 post-SP1 fixes coming". I thought you
started the thread, but upon review, I see it was actually started by
a TeamB guy. But, you did participate in that thread, and indicated
that indeed at least one post-SP1 fixes was coming.

There was a refresh of the SP1 that fixed a bug introduced in
the database area, but I've never heard of any additional SP's
being announced.

Actually, you should check the dates. The post he's referring to originated
on July 8th. There have been no new patches since then. The last one was in
early June.

I don't have the exact date, but the existing 7.1 patch was updated, I'm
sure it was after that post.

Did you click on the link John quoted in that message? He indicated
that *those* fixes would were in QA and would be posted as a public
beta. The only thing updated up to now is the persistent fields issue.
Besides, John posted that on July, 9. The fixed SP1 has been released
on June, 9 (http://bdn.borland.com/article/0,1410,32400,00.html). It
was actually out a few days before that BDN article was posted, IIRC.

Nope, June 9th (when the last patch was released) occurred before July 8th
(when Mark Eddington first posted about new fixes and files they are
preparing for download); see http://clipurl.com?Bs
Please check the dates of the links already provided in this thread as you
asked others to.

I realize now that there might be confusion b/n plans to do a public
beta of some clientdataset fixed Mark Edington was talking about, and a
certified patch. Not sure the status of the public beta right now, but
there are no plans for a compiler fix that I'm aware of.

Mark Edington mentioned that he'd be posting fixes to some of the
DataSnap bugs introduced by the SP.
