I can't find any information on whether or not the Delphi 2005 (BDS 3.0) install will detect and upgrade Delphi 8 (BDS 2.0). Do I need to uninstall Delphi 8 first? Yes, you may upgrade from Delphi 8 to Delphi 2005 and No, you do not need to uninstall Delphi 8 if you do not want to do so. They should not interfere with each other as they are installed in different folders. Do I need to uninstall Delphi 8 first? You do not have to uninstall Delphi 8. However, AKAIK, D2005 doesn't do any upgrading to BDS 2.0 or change it in any way. The two systems are separate products. Do I need to uninstall Delphi 8 first? Thanks to Charles and Edwin for thier prompt response. I also just recently discovered the conflict with Delphi 8 and the .Net Framework v1.1 SP1. I'm either going to ascertain if upgrade 3 for Delphi 8 is available, or uninstall Delphi 8 and install 2005 (precious little real estate left on my laptop). I'm a little concerned as I have a couple of D8 apps that need to be ?migrated? to D2005, and because of all the chatter about the instability of D2005.
