I have been reading various web sites and most of the stories were written last year stating it would be out by now. That news is apparently stale. p.s. I used to follow news about Borland quite closely, but have not read about them for several years. I am just now seeing news that is well over a year old regarding a proposed merger with Corel. I have not found any information about that (no screenshots etc.). The official word is that next Delphi is out before end of the year. Well, the links to the "open letter" and "Octane Q&A" have just been revised since I posted, and it looks like my answer is no longer correct. I don't know whether Uffe was just being skeptical, or whether he had inside information before the public announcement was made. So, the latest seems to be: * Only Delphi for .NET will be released before the end of the year. * It's not clear how it will be packaged and sold, or what will be "Delphi 8." * There will be continued Win32 development, but we'll not see any new Win32 product this year. I use Win32-only and no way was I going to upgrade to a slow clunky .NET interface. I hope they always keep Delphi32 lean and mean and free of ..NET.
