Hi guys,

It's great to see a few more people in the Delphi community with blogs.

What I'd love to see is a site like http://weblogs.asp.net, where a whole
bunch of people blog, except focused on Delphi and related technologies.

I guess such a site would have to be based on an 'apply for membership' or 'by
invitation only' basis ... but it would be neat to have a single point of
entry for a large group of blogs.

Perhaps Borland could throw their hat in the ring? Any chance of some sort of
community-driven blogging site run by Borland?

Just a thought, anyway.

Cheers,
Matt Hamilton

I personally don't get this blog thing. I can understand an occasional
internet article with some interesting opinion. But, this idea of a
public daily diary - who has the time to read all this?

Man, there must be some terribly lonely people out there. GOOD GOD
FOLKS! Go to a baseball game or something!

FWIW, I've diverted some of my time from reading other
newsgroups/websites to reading a few people's blogs.

It's not like people are going to read everyone's blogs, and people
don't necessarily post daily, either.

Perhaps some are reading/posting to delphi.non-technical? <g>

Hey man, I know what you are inferring there, grrr! You'll have to
compare post counts to see who those are. You'll see that mine are
quite low Smile.

Who has the time to *write* it all? Being easily infatuated with my own
words, I thought it would be fun to have a blog, but I'm finding that I
don't have time to write it very often, in fact I've only written one blog
since the introductory blog. And I type pretty fast too.

But then, some people find time to write whole books, so I guess there are
people at both extremes! <g>

Or a beer-tasting. I wonder why nobody ever has those.

This is an interesting idea. My wife does these Pampered Chef events
(Similar to Avon, etc). She picks up all sorts of cooking/kitchen items
from these events. You just gave me an idea of The Pampered Beer
Drinker. I had already been thinking of the Pampered Hunter/Angler. I
should start a blog on this.

Lately I've been buying Costco's "Beers of the World", which is a case of
ten bottles of beer, each a different high quality brand, almost always
non-American. I have one beer to go with my supper. One of those cases of
ten usually lasts me ten days. They seem to be very good beers and ales.

I was watching the Simpson's this past Sunday, as I do religiously every
Sunday, and they had one skit with a mountain cliff used often for suicides.
A guy jumped off lamenting the cancellation of Futurama. I loved it.

I swear, I will buy the Complete Simpsons DVD Collection whenever the series
finally ends and all the seasons are released on DVD. It would cost, what,
something like $200?

One of my wedding gifts was some monthly membership to a beer's of
world club. We enjoyed that quite a bit. My wife and I had engraved
beer mugs for out wedding instead of champagne glasses.

Yes, we love our beer.

Yeah, but you still have to travel from Adelaide.

Whilst my post was largely tounge in cheek, the invitation was/is a
sincere one. My door is always open to anyone who wishes to stop by.
I'd just ask for a little bit of notice so I can prepare my wife for
the onslaught (5 minutes should suffice). :-)

LOL! Futurama was one seriously underrated show, IMHO.

Anyway, isn't this off-topic here? I thought this ng was exclusively
for Borland/TeamB bashing. ;-)
