Just a little more fuel to the fire. I have now tried to use a third party
driver 'DBX4MySQLE' which works perfectly on my development machine, but
alas again when I copy this driver with the connection.ini and driver.ini
file along with my application onto a clean machine, It does not work and
simply crashes without an error message.

I am wondering what else must be deployed. I have tried copying in
midas.dll
also which has no effect.

Any assistance ?

Canīt help you much but only say that when I deploy a program I only use
midas.dll, dbexpmysql.dll, libmysql.dll and the application itself.

Can someone please outline what must be done in order to get a delphi
standalone working with a mysql connection .

n.b. Application works fine on dev machine with v4.0 of mysql and the Delphi
7 patch,

I currently have midas.dll, dbexpmysql.dll, libmysql, dbxconnections.ini,
dbxdrivers.ini and the application itself in the same directory.

What else must I do in order to set up the connection properly.

Regards,

Matt.
