|
|
I'm new to internet programming and I've been experimenting with Indy.
I want to use tcpclient to connect to a server, but how do I resolve
the url>ip for the ip property? I know there is a DNSresolver but then
my next question is how do I know what DNS server IP to put in there?
I assume I want my application to detect the users DNS server, or is
it okay to use any?
TIA

You shouldn't even have to worry about anything. Just put the URL into
the Indy component. Indy will spot this and pick up the DNS server
from the windows network settings and resolve this into an IP all on
it's own.

LOL! I can't believe I've been that silly. I just assumed the
components required an actual IP number.
Thanks!
