Hi,

we are using the DevExpress-Controls (QuantumGrid, the TreeList, etc.)
because of the very good features (grouping, filtering, etc.)

But now we see, that they don't support the "Charset"-Property. There IS
such property, but when we set the Charset to a different one (different
from the System-Settings) everything the user enters is converted to "????"
and the data is lost. :-(

The Support is not very helpfull with this - they just told me that it
doesn't work because they are using RichEdit2.dll for all controls.

wow

we need to display russian and czechian text on german and english PCs ...
and german/english on russian and czechian PCs...

Question: has anyone fixed this problem with the DevExpress-Controls (we
have the sources but not the time and knowhow to fix this by ourself)? Or
has anyone experienced the same problem and has switched to other controls?

I see that the "Eldos"-Controls will support different languages but not
the grouping/filtering features of DevExpress etc...

Any ideas?

Thank you very much

Boris

Take a look at the VirtualTreeView. It's a free unicode control that works
like a grid, a treeview, a listview, a treelist, all in one. Bear in mind,
it will require code changes and time to learn how to use it, but IMO it's
worth it.
(it's currently down due to transferring to a different server)
