Hi all

Can I get a event notification when a device arrived or removed from PC's
parallel port?

Any hint?

TIA

The _parallel_ port?

I've never heard of a plug-and-play parallel port. USB, yes, but
parallel isn't supposed to be hot-pluggable - you can blow the support
chips doing that.

Not that I ever have. Well, not more than once.

I suppose, given a port switch, you should actually be able to change
connected devices without powering down the PC, but the design of the
parallel port is a very old one, and PC hardware designers didn't really
do the hot-swap thing for a long time afterwards. Heck, even ejecting a
floppy and putting a new one in the drive wasn't always noticed.
