You could do that now with D2005, although you won't have debugging or
design-time support.

You'd also probably need to create the project file again, as I don't
think the VS project importer supports .csdproj files.
I'm not sure what the future holds for DeXter in regards to debugging
and design-time support for CF apps.

What about when you are using SqlCE. Will DeXter provide the missing
System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll and redistribution rights for this one?

Not sure, but it would be good if Microsoft would allow Borland to do
that though.
And on a similar note, I was talking to the OpenNetCF.org developers
and they agreed to make the Smart Device Framework available as a
binaries and source only download. Currently their installer barfs if
you don't have VS.NET installed. Not sure if thats been posted on their
website yet though.

David,
That's the big question! Without that, I'll have to continue using VS
which would be a pain as I'd like to use one IDE for my Delphi and C#
Pocket PC work.
Thanks...Andrew

I wouldn't have suggested it if I thought it was pointless.
He asked whether he could maintain/enhance PocketPC apps developed with
VS.NET in DeXter. I stated that he could do that with D2005.

using it because it's called Delphi, does not make much sense to
me....

Perhaps he likes the C# language, but prefers the D2005 IDE over the
VS.NET one.

Have a look here: www.jetbrains.com/resharper
I'd be interested if you would go back to D2005 + C# after using it.
Actually I can't imagine some using C# in VS03 without R#.
Would be like using notepad...

David,
Come on... That's pretty pointless, don't you think?
Why, should one switch the IDE to gain nothing but inconvenience?
If he does like Delphi much more than C# and he does not need CF 2.0, he
could switch to Dexter & D.Net. (if it has proper CF Support)
But why should he use C# in D2005 if he has already VS.Net? Just using it
because it's called Delphi, does not make much sense to me....

Basically, I want to use one IDE for all my Delphi and PPC work if
possible. Since most of my work is with Delphi, I would prefer to use
DeXter (or later). If DeXter (or later) doesn't provide debugging
and design-time support for CF C# apps, I'll probably just continue
with D6 and VS2003. I don't want to convert my PPC C# apps to Delphi -
I don't need the extra work and I don't think the 3rd party assemblies
(from Resco) I use will work with the Delphi CF designer.
