Dear All,
We are currently working on Delphi 5 , BDE to communicate with MS Access

97 database. But now we have to shift to MS Office XP, so BDE needs to
be replaced. Currently, we are evaluating ADO and other BDE
replacements.

Can you provide me with information, documents relating to Diamond
Access , since i couldn't get enough of material regarding the same.

Please feel free to contact me for any clarifications in this regards,

Regards,
Rohit

If you just need ADO components, you can probably find
freeware stuff at Torry's...

Thanks , Also , since we are shifting to Office - XP,, Access database is
going to be changed and now we have to reply upon ADO connectivity.
There are a number of ADO components available in market.
We are very concerned abt the performance issuse, so Can any body please
suggest which component to use....on basis of performance

Please suggest.

On basis of performance you may try OLEDB based components. OLEDB is ADO
backend and unlike Visual Basic Delphi can work with OLEDB interfaces
directly. For example, you may try OLEDB Direct
(http://www.oledbdirect.com). However OLEDB is more complex than ADO and for
best performance you will need to write more complex code.

You should take into account that properly used slow components are usually
faster than unproperly used fast components (properly used fast components
are even faster, of course).

If you are that concerned about performance, you should probably be
considering a real database manager, not Access. The MSDE if you cant afford
sql server

Currently we are focussed on MS Access 2000 only, so what do you suggest, which
component to use (on basis of performance)

Thanks, but at the current moment we are not in a position to shift from Access
to MS SQL 2000, we are in search of a component.

Can any body tell me if there are any BDE enhancements or replacements provided
by Delphi. Now since BDE cannot run on MS Access 2000 above , so there any
component avaiable by Delphi that can solve the problem of connectivity with
Access 2K and above databases
