Hi, slightly off topic.
I have a Digital8 cratridge that I want to get the images/movies off. I can
get hold of a camcorder with a firewire connection and ideally I would write
a program to read the cartridge a block of data at a time. I have never
programmed firewire before does anyone have any pointers where to start?
Cheers

Get free (for non commercial use) tous from Boian Mitov at |
www.mitov.com. One of the direct show demos should do it.
Good luck

Hi Tom,
Thank you for recommending the product. Now I have a prerelease
version that also will extract the DateTime and TimeCode from the
frames, something not often available in other packages . If the
functionality is needed, I can provide the prerelease. We expect to have
a new Beta within 1-2 weeks, and it will include it.
Cheers,
Boian
