I assume so, is there maybe an installation that you can install for OLE to
work, although you will not have Word installed and thus won't be able to
edit documents.

Thanks

Word has to be installed. As would anyother application you wished to
automate.

There is a free word viewer (about a 50 mb download - dont have link but
Google should get it). Don't know if this can be automated.

Cheers,

Mark

Not, WordViewer doesn't support the ole-automation

There are some components that you can buy which let you play with Word
documents without having it installed, but they don't use OLE. I believe
Mike's site is one - http://www.scalabium.com/

You need a full Word installation for OLE to work.
