I presume you have already read the Wiki newsgroup page and is well aware about the difference of Borland news server and Usenet. <http://delphi.wikia.com/wiki/Delphi_Newsgroups> The problem is that for Borland it is not really possible to control what is done on Usenet, that is one of the reason why they want to run their own newsserver. From time to time Borland have renamed newsgroups. E.g. b.p.d.objectpascal was September 2002 changed into b.p.d.language.delphi..., but many news servers just keep on running both the old and the new groups. Even if some news server stop using it, others servers will replicate it around, making it appear that the group still exist. In short it does no seem possible for Borland to force all news servers to stop running a certain group. If Google Groups, would only run official Borland newsgroups and actively pass on messages onto the Borland news server we would come a long way, because Google Groups are often used by new users that have no idea how Usenet and news server work. They have no chance of knowing that there is a difference between Usenet and Borland news server. To alleviate the problem this is why we, Delphi Wiki users, decided to start telling people directly about the problem, so each person can learn about the problem and how to solve it.
