Hi!

I plan to buy FastReports 3 Professional, because I'm developing a serious
information system and QuickReport 4 Professional is not enough for me. I've
triedy FastReports 3 Demo and I think it's great.... But before it I have
some simple questions:

1. I want to buy the soft at www.devshop.cz, will I get everything what is
needed for registration at www.fast-report.com and for getting upgrade-s and
info-s and support in the future?

2. Can I localize FastReport3 into the Slovak language?

3. Can I make my own preview screen, like in QuickReport 4 Pro?

4. Can I make everything in FastReports what I could in QuickReport 4? (for
example: I use TOEQuery from ODBCExpress in my reports as a data source;
events and bands and objects from quickreports; export filters; end-user
report editor......) You know what I mean :-)

Thanks for the answers!

I hope it's a good idea to change from Quickreport to FastReports.... What
do you think????

Regards,

Viktor

The component is designed for creation of custom preview windows.

Creating a custom preview window

FastReport displays reports in the standard preview window. If it does
not suit you for some reason, a custom preview form may be created.
For this purpose, the “TfrxPreview” component from the FastReport
component palette was designed. To display a report, the link to this
component should be assigned to the “TfrxReport.Preview” property.

Viktor,

it is certainly a fine product, I have integrated FastReport into my
applications and my end-users are able to create their own reports, save
them, export them and so on.

Good support too.

regards
Glenn

Hi!

Thanks for the answers, but I have some more questions :-)

1. What is the difference between Standard and Professional version? Only
the source code? Is there any reason to buy the sources (I want to print
with FastReports, not to edit the code Smile)?

2. Do I need source code to localize FastReports3 into the Slovak language?

3. Do you have the same problem printing images like QuickReport? (big
500-1000 kb images sometimes disappear when printing with QRImage
component -> the StretchDraw function in Delphi fails).

Regards,

Viktor

Dear Viktor Halász!

Sorry for dealy.

W/o problems. Any answers for any questions :)

IVH> 1. What is the difference between Standard and Professional version? Only
IVH> the source code? Is there any reason to buy the sources (I want to print
IVH> with FastReports, not to edit the code Smile)?

Yes. Full sources + FastQueryBuilder.

Or you can use FastReport Standard for future versions of
Delphi/C++Builder/BDS w/o any upgrade fees - we have not planes to
sell upgrades for each new versions of Delphi as major versions.

IVH> 2. Do I need source code to localize FastReports3 into the Slovak language?

No, of course.
See folder:
"C:\Program Files\FastReports\FastReport 3\Res\"

But do you know - that you can get upgrade to FastReport Pro for free
for such translation?

And it is offer for all. If you do not see your language in our
localize list (now - 27 languages) - you are welcome!

IVH> 3. Do you have the same problem printing images like QuickReport? (big
IVH> 500-1000 kb images sometimes disappear when printing with QRImage

FastReport 3 optimized for big professional reports.
As I know - somebody from our customers uses FastReport as
"QuarkXpress" or "PageMaker" for printing professional commercial
booklets, catalogues, etc. with set of big pictures.
