|
|
Hi Newsgroup-readers!
As i installed FreeVCS on my Delphi 5 professional Update Pack i stepped
into the following problem that seems clearly to be a problem of the Delphi
IDE:
As i work in a developement team i have sometimes to update files (*.pas) of
the project that were changed by other members of the team.
Most times that works fine and Delphi-IDE displays the changed files
correctly.
But there are some files where the changed source code is NOT displayed.
Despite closing and opening the source file, the
old source is displayed. Examing the source file with a text editor shows
that the file HAS changed physically on the hard drive,
nevertheless delphi insists on displaying the old version of the file (must
be in some kind of cache).
Only a restart of Delphi helps to show the correct version of the source
file, but a restart of Delpphi everytime a file has changed is annoying ;)
On very rare occasions a error message is displayed where Delphi tells me
that the file cannot be reloaded due to
some dependency problems in the project which i think is the key to solving
this problem.
Is there some way to make sure delphi guarantees a reload of files?
If not: what kind of dependencies are making it impossible to display a new
file?
May understanding the problem helps us to find a workaround, or at least
makes
us possible to classify the files in good-files (no restart) and bad files
(restart neccessary) :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
Thanks a lot
Chris
