I want to be able to run gnu make. However, whenever I call make on a
command line, borland make comes up. Is there any way to do this short
of uninstalling Borland?

I renamed the gnu make "gmake.exe", made sure it's in my path, and I use
that on the command line/batch files when I need it. The default "make"
is still borland make.

Seems to work fine.

If you want this done without ever looking back: change your PATH and
put a directory of your own in the first position. Put a copy of GNU
make in there. You'll have to check back that new program
installations didn't break the PATH order for this to continue
working.
