Hi everybody,

thanks a lot for a hectic end of the year in the non-tech!
Especially thanks to those who had the patience and willingness to
contribute and reply to my posts on interfaces and unit tests!
I learnt a lot. Hopefully I will get time to put it down in writing, my
thoughts, ideas and experiences regarding this. This is one of my
promises for the new year. Another is to try to make an expert/wizard
for D2005 that will add functionality to unit testing.
The third is to reduce my posts here to mainly be Delphi on-topic <g>
<crossing fingers behind back>

I wish the best for Borland in 2005, and hope and believe that its
employees' love for their profession, for programming and for Delphi
that so far has been so apparent will be even stronger in 2005!

Lastly I hope for another successful Borcon next year, Borcon 2004 was
just great for me, I learnt a lot, and still have much material that
needs to be explored.

I will soon be away, see you next year.

Happy Holidays!

I love those types of discussions. I learn a lot too from them. Thanks
indeed to all that participate in such threads.

That would be cool. Automated ways to implement unit testing make it almost
free. And that is a very Good Thing(tm).

I have told myself this sane thing. But I keep drifting back to other topics
too. This place is like a great big lounge filled with all sorts of
interesting people, kind of like a cafeteria or lounge in a graduate dorm.

I share that wish.

I hope I can get to another one next year. I missed it this past year.

Happy Holidays to you and all. I'll be online. Hopefully I won't be alone
here.

Oh brother. I need to get my brain refactored. I read that as "Merry
Christmas and a Happy, Pompous 2005 to you too." Obviously more suited to be
directed at myself than others.

Not sure if I'm the David in the subject, but nevertheless Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, our fellow non-tech'ers, the
hard working Borlanders, and all associated families.

Cool. I thought it would be presumptuous not to check. :-)

For the sake of clarity if the need ever arises (there are a few
David's that hang out here), I won't be offended if you or anyone else
decides to call me Cleggy. That's how most folks get around the problem
of me having such a... ahem... common name.

Of course, once the Clegg population increases here, we'll have to Plan
B it :-)

Start now, Clegg here is an insect here in Norway, "Klegg", flying one,
once it has got you, you never get rid of it, it "hangs on to you like a
Klegg" :-)

We'll stick to David then, shall we? :-)

(Just kidding, Cleggy is fine)

Happy Holidays!

I second the "Happy holidays" and "Happy new year" best wishes,
especially for
S. Trefethen, John Kaster, Anders Ohlsson, Allen Bauer, Danny Thorpe who
presently are the most visible here and the rest of Borland crew and
TeamB, plus all of you here who I had a chance to talk to either in the
forums or in the chat, like Liz and Holger.

I'll be probably at home, working on a Global Package Cache for Win32, a
concept mutuated from dotNET, to make us Win32 developers' life a bit
easier.

I'll need some informations though about the internals of the
package loading mechanism for applications compiled with run-time
packages and how to hook into the system to redirect the needed calls.
Thus, I hope someone here will contribute infos from the inside :-P

Cheers and happy new year!

Andrew

Well, considering my wife and children are currently living about
350Kms away from me (and will do until mid January), I'll certainly be
hanging around here a bit in the evenings. Although that will probably
be counterbalanced by lack of attendance during business hours. I've
purposely not configured my newsreader* at work so I can stay focused
during my settling in period at my new job.

So Christmas for me this year will be extra special, as it will be the
first time I've seen them for 2 weeks (the longest I've ever been apart
from them too). No presents needed for me this year.

(Ah crap! I think I'm getting sentimental in my middle age)

*How's JSN coming along? IIRC one of the proposed features was an easy
way to sync messagebases for multiple installations. That feature would
be killer, IMHO.

Aye, a nice happy hug to everyone. For what ever celebrations you do or
dont have at this time of year.

Be safe, dont drink and drive, eat a whole load of food enough to keep
you going for a few months hybernation, avoid the TV as its usually
just seasonal rubbish that is a waste of airtime.

May 2005 bring good to all.
