Hi.

I'm a guy from Denmark, who not have a very well knowledge in the English
language, but I hope that you understand and can help me. Thank you.

I have Borland Delphi 2005 with Database, but I can't get it work.

I have a danish book, which says, that I should open "Database Explorer" and
in there it is an tree structure in the left with several databases (Dbase,
Access, Interbase etc.)

The book says that I could try to click on them to learn more about database
explorer, but when i click on the databases, an message box pop up and says
"Connection open failed"

in other words: I can't connect my databases to the projects.

What do i have to do?

Hi;

My first thought is that you may not have the datatbase engine running
and listening for connections. Most versions of Delphi ship with a
database engine or mini-server of some kind. They have to be running on
the machine before your delphi programs or the supplied tools such as
Database Explorer will be able to open them. Hope that helps a little.
