I am having a problem with a report, and am at my wits end. I am
trying to learn Quick Reports fast, as I have never used it before,
to build a report for my company, and I need an answer quickly so as
to meet a deadline. Here is the key to the format and the format
itself:

Key:
L## = Columns (01 = Supplier, 02 = Address, 03 = Active, 04 =
Primary, 05 = Contact, 06 = Active, 07 = Phone, 08 = Type, 09 =
Active, 10 = Primary, 11 = Service, 12 = Active, 13 = Included,
14 = Waiting List, 15 = Hours)
D## = Fields (01 = Supplier, 02 = Hours, 03 = Address1, 04 =
Address2, 05 = City, 06 = State-Zip, 07 = Active, 08 = Primary,
09 = Contact, 10 = Job Title, 11 = E-mail, 12 = Method, 13 =
Active, 14 = Phone, 15 = Type, 16 = Active, 17 = Primary, 18 =
Service, 19 = Active, 20 = Included, 21 = Waiting List)

Format:

You can see how involved this is. For each supplier there can be
zero to many of each of the following: Hours, Addresses, Contacts,
Phones, and Services. I am thinking that I need to use a master/
detail report with group and sub-detail bands, but I am having
trouble setting it up. The documentation for Quick Reports 3 leaves
a lot as exercises for the user. Any help from any of you
knowledgeable users would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,
what datasources are you using? Delphi version? windows? (not that it'd
matter much but surely helps *smiles*)
You're right. A master-detail report would probably do it right (as i
understand it).
Add a detailband and a subdetailband. Your detailband is your master and
the subdetailband will be the detail (addresses) band.
Set quickreport's datasource to your master datasource and the subdetail's
datasource to your "addresses" datasource. NOTE that this will *not*
automatically
set the relations. Set the relations (M-D) on the dataset level or set a
range on the detail table on master's datachanged or something.
HTH. Do drop me a line if you need a hand with anything.
