Hi,
I just want to let everyone know that doesn't already know: The products
from Components 4 Developers are production quality, up working 24/7. I've
used those other middleware "want-to-be's" and found that they don't
perform; they break when your at home trying to sleep, are usually not fully
customizable, and they don't work together with other technologies very
well.
Whatever the service, function or connectivity, I have found kbmMW
technology to be the best on the market for reliability, performance &
scalability. For more information go to
http://www.components4developers.com/
If you need a solution to your database connectivity problems or have any
other development problems, contact me.

Great! Congratulations on getting your product up and finding a middleware
solutin that works well for you!

You should really specify which competitors you are talking about here and
calling "want to be's". I have used ASTA, kbmmw then RemObjects, and each of
these products worked very well in my experience when deployed. However,
they all had different architectures, and I had a different experience with
each as a developer.
Having used all three, personally I prefer RemObjects, but everyone should
make up their own mind. But I think that if you're going to denigrate the
competitors as "want to be's", I think you should mention specifically which
competitors you are having a go at, and what problems you encountered and
felt were show-stoppers.
Just to be clear, I have no issue with kbmmw. It's flexible, you can get
what you want done on it, and as you say it is 'production quality'. I just
want to emphasise that other frameworks are 'production quality' as well,
including RemObjects DataAbstract in particular. The differences are more in
the middleware architectures and GUI tools (such as the RemObjects Service
Builder and Schema Modeller), and the level of productivity you will have
with any given middle-tier framework.

Nothing against kbmMW and it's nice to hear that you've found a solution
that best fits you, but we also have a number of customers using the
RealThinClient SDK on Servers running 24/7 over the Internet (our own
WebServer runs on the RTC SDK: www.realthinclient.org ), with thousands of
clients actively using them and there wasn't a single problem or bug report
since the start in May 2005.
As far as I know, all of our customers are quite happy with how
RealThinClient SDK components work. If they weren't, our public Newsgroups
would be full with complaints and we wouldn't have so many positive
testimonials (and more will come).

I second that.
Other than having RTC Servers running 24/7 for several months without a
restart, we also have done a number of stress-tests, all of which have
passed without any problems:

Those tests, combined with a number of sattisfied customers (most have
1.000+ clients with Servers running 24/7), I'd say that we too have a
middleware that works:

I find Datasnap/MIDAS to be stable, performant, and customizable enough
to meet my needs. I never have had my sleep interupted because one of
my Datasnap apps is down.

That would be fine, but it needs to be in the thirdparty group, not
here.

I was replying in the 3rd party ng. I didn't realise the post was was
cross-posted, so my reply went to all ng's the OP cross-posted to.
