Hi all
Im working on a project, witch makes use of RAS connections. I don't
have a modem in my dev. machine, and im looking for a way to test RAS
functions .... any sugestions ????

you could try using a VPN connection, iirc from the RAS API point of view
that should be close enough?

I am not trying to sound sarcastic here, but maybe you should buy a modem to
test? That is the only way to be really sure it works. Otherwise you might
end up with a surprise. No good to deploy "thinking" that it "might" work is
it?

Well, if I was writing code that did dialup networking, I'd get me a
modem. Yes, VPN connections use the same RAS API, but there are
performance and possibly other issues that will show up only by using
modems, so go get a modem for your dev machine. And you might want to
look into a 2-line TELTONE or equivalent phone line simulator, then you
can do a closed-loop test of your system without making any outside
phone calls. I do a lot of modem/datacomm work for industrial stuff,
and this is my setup. I wouldn't dream of developing without a proper
set of test HARDWARE.

Som en af de andre har skrevet så bør du altså købe et modem.
Bare et billigt et er nok.
Der er simpelthen ikke andre pålidelige måder at teste sådan noget på.
