At Microsoft icons are not particually meant to be comprehensible, they
are more part of a fashion statement. Used to shine up an old product
so it can be sold as new.
Whatever they draw on these icons, I do hope they keep the textual tool
tips so it is possible understand the icons.
Remember the old saying: One well chosen word, says more than a 1000
Microsoft icons can do.

Hmm there is some info that interesting in a Delphi perspective. MS is |
now using PNG (the new way as he says), alpha channels and 256 colors...
We are still using bmp's and less than 256 colos in TImagelist...
Oh, sorry that should have been posted to off-topics as is more
off-topic than "Stardock's 10 rules for success" ;-P

Stardock's 10 rules for success relate well to developer.
What you posted was a trivia questions and is not appropriate here.
If you felt that in some small detail it related to the Delphi
community then you probably should have stated that to begin with.

Marc, are you having a bad day?!? If you want to be a cop, then please
be a consistent one! Even a cop have to be nice and not biased and admit
when they where wrong in their judgment..
Cool off, take a rest and please take what ever, that have come across,
out on some one else!

Not that I care overly much whether the best place to discuss MS Office
icons is here, UI Design, or off-topic, but . . . I basically agree with you
on this.
Delphi runs on Windows, supports MS Office via COM Automation, and Delphi
developers may even have design/GUI issues trying to make their apps tie in
with MS icons look and feel. On the other hand, I've seen Team B members
enthusastically participate in far less relevant threads, like where the
best place to stay is when going to holiday in Hawaii or the pros and cons
of Microsoft's position on anti-trust issues.
At the most, all it would seem to warrant would be a gentle 'perhaps this
kind of topic would be best discussed in BPOT' kind of answer, IMO.
