|
|
BCB 6 Pro, Windows XP
Where do the settings for the BDE drivers get stored when using the
Installshield that came with BCB 6 and the Merge Module available on the
website. It does not seem to use the same location (ie HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SoftwareBorlandDatabase EngineSettingsDRIVERS) as the IDE install. I
use dBase 4 tables and need to set the driver level to 4. It works fine on
my XP machine and fine and any Win 98 machine, but when using the
Installshield version, the settings are not recognized. I have to manually
go throught the BDE administrator and make the necessary changes. Any
ideas why the BCB 6 IDE install and an install create using the tools
provided would use a different location to store the BDE settings?

Found a work around. Simply delete the .cfg file and BDE is forced to use
the registry settings.
