I have installed a 3-tier application (using Borland's socket server) in a
Server 2003 machine which after a few days of operation rebooted by itself a
couple of times. It seems unlikely but is there a chance that socket server
may be causing it?

Thanks
Yannis

If you have a SMP or hyper-threaded server, get Manuel Parma's socket
server fix from http://cc.borland.com

Thank you Craig.
Is this a known problem?
I have trouble downloading the fix.
Is it included in Delphi7?
I am using Delphi6.
Thanks
Yannis

There is a known threading bug in socket server which tends to surface
on SMP systems. I don't know if it's causing what you describe, but
it's the first thing I'd try if you're using a SMP or hyper-threading
CPU.

No, AFAIK.

No, AFAIK.

This is another issue that has existed for years. Will Borland release
an official fix? Again, I hope "good enough" is not the new Borland
standard.
