I have just tried to post something, and it does not appear in my Outlook
Express newsreader headers. The first time I tried, I had a zipfile
attached, and it was rejected because it was binary. OK. Then I attached
just the source files, including the DFM file. It seemed to post without
being rejected, but it did not show up. I tried again, and this time it was
rejected by the binary filter. I had a previous successful post with a DFM
file attached. I removed the offending file, and tried again. No reject
error, but still no header in the newsreader. I am trying again, without
attachments, to see what is going on. So, here goes...

It worked.

As this is a non-binaries group, *any* attachments, including text files
(such as .pas or .dfm files) might well be rejected by your server.

If you can source a few kb of web-space, you can upload the files there and
link to them here, or you can find a relevant binaries group?

D.

OK, this was posted within 10 minutes, so I'll try my original post with no

attachments. I would still like to know the proper netiquette for
attachments on this newsgroup. The mini-FAQ does not address this, and
another newsgroup FAQ only addressed the obvious restrictions on binaries,
and other issues such as top-posting, excessive quoting, signatures, etc. It
would be good to include a link in the Mini-FAQ to one or more of these:
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt, http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1855.html,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette.

This newsgroup does not have a FAQ in the index:
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/by-newsgroup/comp/

None. Get it hosted, and post the URL.

I'll put it in the wait list. Which I really should start processing
one of these days.

I've sent them an email.

Or use the Borland newsgroups (see below), which have a group
specifically for attachments.
