Ditto for me, too. The ol' hour glass runs a bit then all stops.
No clue. |

I tried running with Explorer 6 and the candidate release Explorer 7.
This is running on XP Pro with all the updates Microsoft provides. The machine has 1G of ram and to 160G hard drives.
I downloaded twice and compared files. They are the same. Tried removing C++Builder and running the Delphi Explorer. Same thing, just stops with no splash.
So world, any more ideas?
Jeff Duntemann says I was the first to report non-starting problem to him.
He has a neat page set up to assist folks with start up:

Eureka!
Go to this web site:
http://blogs.borland.com/chrishesik/archive/2006/04/27/24509.aspx
This talks about a Delphi update, but the symptom sure is the same!
Somehow a key file gets corrupted.
Basically it says:
In the directory (USERHOME)\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\(some long directory name) there is a file which BDS accesses during startup.
Use a file monitoring utility (such as FileMon (www.sysinternals.com)) to determine which one it is. In my case, there was only one file there.
Delete this file, then Delphi or C++ Builder will start normally |

My hope is gone, I had a mixed experience with BCB6. Did over 50 small
applications with it, but it was also very buggy.
The new version don't even launch on my system and the support ticket I
opened did not lead to anything except the 'do you have enough free ram on
your 2gig of ram machine?'.
I guess I will never look back.

Shazaam!
(Don already said Eureka.)
I had the same problem, too. I did notice that I was able to access Turbo
C++ Explorer on the same PC with a separate user account. That of course
points to something that is account-specific.
What I did not realize was that it was in a M$ folder instead of the Borland
folder.
Cheers,
Andrew
