I just bought a new laptop with XPPro on it and installed Delphi 6 with BDE. It worked fine until I configured a new alias in the BDE Administrator, now it won't initialize. Completely shutting down the system does not bring it back. XP Pro has SP2, D6 has update 2. I have no users configured on XP Pro. This looks like a Microsoft induced incompatibility but I don't see any other reports of this problem on here. Anyone? Do mean that the BDE Administrator will not start or do you mean that all BDE apps will not start? What error message(s) do you get? If you do not get any error messages, what, exactly, happens?
