Hi all,

I try to install the Indy 9. But I am having trouble to do it. The
following is what I've done:

1. Remove the old Indy by using Borland's MSI installer;
2. Execute the Fullc6.bat file;
3. Open IDE, Add library path by clicking Tools|Environment Options|Library
and then add:
";E:\Tools\Indy9_10\C6" to the end of the path
However, every time it will automatically remove the ";" and change it
to "E:\Tools\Indy9_10\C6". Why?
4. Install dclIndy60.bpl by clicking Component | Install Package| and click
Add Button;

At this point it pop up an error message: "This application has failed to
start because indy60.bpl was not found. Re-installing the application may
fix this problem". I've reinstall it by bouble click the Fullc6.bat file.
But it still came up with the same error.

Could someone help me to solve this problem please?

Thanks in advance!
June

That only removes the Indy packages from the IDE, but it does not
delete them from the machine. You have to do that manually.

You do not have the IDE setup to point to where indy60 is actually
located. By default, fullc6.bat puts indy60.bpl into the Windows
System folder.

Can I get this done by doing a search for the following files:
dclindy*.bpl, dclindy.*, dclindy*.bpl, indy*.lib, id*.pas, id*.hpp,
id*.obj, id*.dcu
and delete all of them.

How to setup the IDE to point to Indy60? I think it it will be done by
adding the library path to Tools|Environment Options|Library. I've done
this, as I've listed in my last post:

";E:\Tools\Indy9_10\C6" to the end of the path.

Could you pls give me a detail list of what I need to do for a proper
installation?

Many thanks.

I suggest you read the Indy Knowledge Base.

But are you pointing it to the Windows System folder as well?

Hi Gambit,

I've searched the entire machine and can't find the indy60.bpl file. It
seems like the fullc6.bat doesn't create one. Any idea?

Thanks!

Yes, it does. That is the first thing fullc6.bat compiles, as that is
the main runtime package that the other packages use.

Hi Gambit,

I've figured out why it didn't generate the indy60.bpl file at the first
place. Once I copied the dclIndy40.rc file into the system directory, it
solved the problem. I've the Indy 9 package installed in my system now.
Thanks for your help.

However, I am unable to complie my project. At the end of linking it came
up with an linker error:

[Linker Error] Fatal: Access violation. Link terminated

Only one line, no further information about this linker error. I've
re-built the project 2 times and still the same.

Will it related to the Indy package? I've found that in the bpr, it still
calls the old Indy.lib. If I remove it from the bpr and delete them from
the C:\Program Files\Borland\CBuilder6\Lib\Release and the C:\Program
Files\Borland\CBuilder6\Lib\Debug directory, and then rebuild the project,
it came up with the following linker errors:

[Linker Error] Unresolved external 'Ttrial_version::' referenced from
E:\SOFTWAREBCONVERSION\SMALLBIZ\SBIZ1DLL\INSTSBSRC.OBJ
[Linker Error] Unresolved external '__fastcall
Ttrial_version::Ttrial_version(Classes::TComponent *, smallbiz_info *, int,
bool, System::AnsiString)' referenced from

[Linker Error] Unresolved external '__fastcall

E:\SOFTWAREBCONVERSION\SMALLBIZ\SBIZ1DLL\HTTPTRANSFER.OBJ

Any idea?

Regards,
June

Those errors are not caused by Indy. You probably deleted something
that was not related to Indy in the first place.

You deleted/removed Indy files that the compiler was still generating
references to.
