|
|
Hi All,
I do not know if this possible, but who knows...
I intend to make an app like karaoke but the video sources from avi/mp4
files (I have lot of them in my laptop, to save space), the resolution does
not matter.
I never make app using any kind of multimedia, and this for exploring the
multimedia side of Delphi, for personal use only.
Please share your thoughts, and links if you have, where I should start this
project. I don't want to reinventing the wheels, but don't know how to use
the wheel neither :)
TIA,
HB |

It's computers - anything's possible, given time and stubbornness...
You might want to look at Boian Mitov's (hope I got that right) VideoLab
stuff at www.mitov.com. You might also look at DSPack at www.progdigy.com.
Both are free for personal use; DSPack is free for commercial use, too. You
may want to do some reading on DirectShow to understand some of how that
might help (and hinder) you. You might find Quicktime useful, too -- you can
embed the control into a Delphi form easily, and it has a lot of
capabilities. That might make the MP4 files easier to deal with, but there
are MPEG4 codecs available for DirectShow. |

Hi Warricks,
Thanks for the links, I'll start from what you recommend.

| To display the lyrics, you could use external subtitules (like vobsub) |

Thanks Patrick,
Great. That's just what I'm thinking right now, and you gave the way. I'm
trying VobSub v.2.23.

Vobsub is just an example. There about 20 different subtitle formats, look
for some subtitle workshop (don't remember the exact name), it does allow to
have colors and effects.
