My C++ code compiled and linked fine in BCB 5.0, but in BDS 6.0
it compiled ok and get the following linker error:
[Linker Fatal Error]Fatal: Unable to open file 'QREXPORT.OBJ'

Apparently, it is looking for QREXPORT.OBJ whereas the real
filename is QREXPORT.PAS

Can someone show me how to fix this? I've been playing with the
Project/Options and Tools/Options but couldn't get it to link
successfully.

Thanks,
Khai

Hi,

The Report tool has changed from QR to RAVE under BDS 2006.

QR is not available for the C++ personality in BDS 2006.
The available files (CodeGear Site) are for Delphi only.

This subject has been discussed with David Dean and we are
waiting for the C++ version...Please CodeGear...Please David...

Best Regards
Antonio

And after trying to use RaveReports, I have to say I miss QuickReports
even more.

Hi Bruce,

Is Rave such a bad experience ?
I've a lot of Applications heavely using QR Reports and i did not try Rave
yet!

I've been looking at the Nevrona Newsgroups an it seems that trafic there is
very low.

I've asked David Dean about the C++ Version of QR.
Maybe it will be easier if some more BDS users ask for it.

Ok. So I see that Rave has replaced QuickReports. Is there a
workaround or fix for this so that I don't have to go thru the
pain of moving all my QuickReports to Rave? How can I easy get
pass this wall?

Thanks,
Khai

Hi Bruce,

Is Rave such a bad experience ?
I've a lot of Applications heavely using QR Reports and i did not

The documentation is of poor quality (same for QR). The component
organization is not intuitive (to me). And the Rave IDE is clunky
(ctrl-click-drag to move fields to a report? Hard to do on a laptop).
I had a QR report working in a couple of hours when I first used it,
and after a week of playing with RAVE, I'm still not there.

I've asked, too.

The only thing I can suggest is to purchase ( £149.00) QR4 Pro from
www.qusoft.com which is supposedly compatible with Builder2006.

I'm looking for some alternatives to solve my QR problem. What
I'm hearing so far are:

1. purchase ( £149.00) QR4 Pro from www.qusoft.com
2. convert QR to Rave Reports

are there any other good options. I have a product that needs
to be release soon. Based on the two options above, my choice
is option 1, unless there's a silver bullet out there somewhere.

Thanks,
Khai
