Hello Everyone

I have heard about SA but I really don't know much. How can I buy it? can I
buy for use with my C++ builder 5 Enterprise edition? (My C++ Builder 5 is a
full product) Can I buy SA in junction with Borland Academic Software?

I don't know if you can purchase Software Assurance in conjunction with an
Academic Discount, I do know that you have to purchase it with an upgrade
or new user license under normal circumstances. It basically changes the
stakes from a "do I or don't I upgrade" question to an annual payment
plan. You pay 30% of a new user license every single year to CodeGear,
and hope it works out better for you in the long run.

One *major* change to the Academic License to be aware of - you can no
longer use the Academic License to do works for the institution or
personal use. You can only use the Academic License for classroom
instructional use, either as the instructor or as the student.

In exchange for the annual payment, you get all new releases of the
Delphi/C++ Builder line, up to 3 official CodeGear Support incidents per
year, and a special web site to track those Support incidents.

If you look at shop.borland.com, or your regular reseller, check out the
price for an upgrade to Delphi 2007, then the price at checkout. By
default, it will add SA at the end as a separate line item.

For occasional upgraders who skip versions, SA may not be worth it. For
those looking to smooth out their appropriations requests and stop
fighting the beancounters, it's easier to have the same $ amount every year.
