I just installed Delphi 2007 in a VM and noticed it dumps 1.4 GB of
files under:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\{AB3EC276-D261-4943-A921-1CC1C6799AED}
Apparently this is a cache of the files copied from the DVD.
Is there a way I can prevent this directory from being created?
I don't have 1.4 GB to spare on my main machine's C: drive, and I don't
plan on losing my DVD any time soon.

Jordan,
Whilst I can't tell you how to stop it being created, mine is only 783MB
after installing, if that helps.
One suggestion to try, copy the DVD to a drive on your network and try
installing from there. I don't know if that works, mind you. Are there
any switches listed for the install program?

There are so many things wrong with the installer technology
used by D2007, this being just one of them. Ultimately it usually
gets the job done, but it's pretty "unfinished" (to put it mildly)
in a lot of areas.
If you can temporarily free up the necessary 1.4 gigs during
install to get it completed, you can then delete all the
sub-folders after installation to get nearly all the space back.
But yeah, not being able to redirect this cache at install time
and not disabling it for a disc install seems silly.

This is no longer an officially supported group, you would have to
contact support directly.
You could copy the folder from the VM to your other drive and install
from there, another alternative would be to use a 'junction point' so
that c:\d&s\... actually points to another drive.
