Looking for new perspectives on template driven web applications. Rather a
broad question but open to any input.

Let's say you have a client who wants you to build a web application that
allows customers to build/create their own application layout (i.e.
insurance, loans, credit apps, etc). The app data would need to be stored
in an Oracle DB, and the app data would need to be able to communicate with
inside & outside systems. And let's say you can use any
technologies/languages you want - how would you go about it?

Have an idea how I'd tackle it, but looking for fresh perspectives...

Thanks,
Jan

Hi Jan

I'd definitely move to .NET, simply due to the reflection and metadata
provided over the rather crude RTTI available in Delphi for Win32. As to
what language, that would depend on what level of .NEt you target but I
keep hearing that ASP.NET 2.0 really answers a lot of problems.

Personally, I would use an OPF for storage and hook up all the visuals
using the excellent "data source" model that .NET provides.

Hi Joanna-

Was thinking of ASP .NET, but hadn't explored OPF for .NET. OPF is looking
interesting. Thanks for getting me thinking.
