I am now using BCB6.0. I will be upgrading to BCB 2006 on a new Vista
computer. I don't see any mention of Vista on the web page below. Is the
current version of BCB 2006 Vista certified?
http://www.codegear.com/Products/CBuilder/tabid/123/Default.aspx
Thanks

I doubt it, considering that BDS 2006 was released long before Vista
was.
BDS 2007 has Vista support, though I do not know if it is specifically
certified.

For me, Turbo C++ works really well on Vista Business on Vmware |

Absolutely...I've cold installed BDS 2006 and also 'upgraded'
XP->Vista....both work if you turn of UAC.....it works great....licensing
registration does not work, but a phone call is pretty easy...SMI/SME,
Woll2Woll and Advantage also work fine....

We did not test/cert BCB6 or BCB2006 on Vista - though customers have had
some success running them on Vista
*however* the pre-2007 VCL certainly has Vista runtime issues that would
affect the visual behavior of your older app running on Vista. The new VCL
in Delphi 2007 has been significantly enhanced to support Vista and
gracefully fallback when running on older Windows OSes and we are working on
a new version of C++Builder that includes the new VCL (and many other cool
things).

I don't yet have Vista (but some of my customers do). What is UAC? |

It's part of the new security setup. Some customers will be somewhat
peeved if they have to turn off computer security to run your program.
Others are peeved by UAC anyway.
