Hi,

I have written some web services in Delphi 8, BDS 2005 and BDS 2006 that
were .NET web services.
Now I've been looking at the Delphi 2007 trial and noticed that there is
no .NET support there.
So I am thinking, what would the advantages be to port my existing .NET
web services to the Delphi 2007 ISAPI dll web services be?
Should I just wait until this summer for the .NET version of Delphi 2007?
The ISAPI dll's also only run on Windows, right?
Would it be easier for me to use the Delphi 2007 web services on a linux
box where it is almost impossible to run a .NET web service (Mono excluded).

thanks

That depends entirely on your application. If your .NET web services
work, and can be maintained, there's no reason to rewrite them as
ISAPI DLLs.

That's correct.

Are you having problems calling the services from a Linux client, or
do you wish to run the services on a Linux server? Neither .NET nor
ISAPI services produced by Delphi run on Linux.

Ok, thanks for the clear answers.
When can I expect a Delphi 2007 for .NET then?
I really don't want to buy both BDS 2006 for web service development and
then Delphi 2007 for Win32 development but I really want Delphi 2007 :)

Thanks,
nisbus

No date has been announced for the next version of Delphi.

Well, I hear buying Delphi 2007 now with SA might be a good deal.
