|
|
I'm running Delphi 2007 under Vista. I've downloaded Rave 7.5.0 from
www.codegear.com/downloads/regusers/delphi and installed it. I've not
used Rave before.
Trying to access Help gives me an access violation at address 0. I
can open the Rave chm Help file from Windows Explorer. I've also
moved the hlp and cnt files out of the Help folder.
Then as a test, I used a Paradox database with about 10,000 records.
I created a report using the Rave wizard, simply to display the
"Surname" text field from the database. Because of the problems with
PDOXUSRS.NET under Vista, I had to run my application in order to set
up the session and open the database file, so that the Rave link
became live. Then I tried a print preview of the report from within
Rave. Rave took three minutes "preparing" the report. Previous,
using QRDesign, the report appeared almost instantaneously.
Then I saved the report, added the Rave report component to my form
and tried to see the report from my running application, but all I got
was a blank report-picker.
The Rave demo app works OK.
I've read the relevant sections in the chm Help and I seem to be
following the correct procedures.
I'm getting round the problem of PDOXUSRS.NET under Vista by creating
a "Temp" session alias as my program opens. Is there a way of being
able to open database files in the IDE without messing up the BDE
settings so that I can preview reports in Rave without having to run
the application ?
Can anyone please help ? |
